Dancehall trio Major Lazer has been crushing it thus far in 2015. The trio, composed of Diplo, Walshy Fire, and Jillionaire, has been making some serious noise thanks to the premiere of their cartoon series, the release of a massive single, “Lean On,” with DJ Snake and MØ and the announcement of a handful of headlining performances.
While their highly anticipated record Peace Is The Mission expected to drop on June 1, the trio is already looking ahead to the future. In a recent interview with InTheMix, Walshy Fire disclosed the trio would be releasing a second album later this year and was even generous enough to unveil the title — Music Is The Weapon.
“For sure, we’re gonna release another album. We already have a name for it, it’s called Music is the Weapon, and it’s gonna come out later this year or early next year for sure… It’ll have a few more club songs, a few more festival songs…but it’ll be in the same spectrum, just super-well-written songs with really great production that the entire world can understand.”
In addition to the second album, Walshy Fire also spoke about what to expect at their upcoming Major Lazer international festival tour and why they will be some of their most high-octane performances yet.
“We’ve got double the dancers – it’s about 11 people – double the everything: pyro, lights. It’s an amazing show, it’s completely different from what you guys have seen, but with the same hardcore energy.”
