Dillon Francis originally announced via his facebook page that his new album was dropping in May, but now it seems that things are getting pushed back to July 2014 due to some other singles coming out prior which pushed back the “album release strategy”. It makes sense, any label is going to want plenty of time between releases, especially with this highly anticipated album from Dillon (dropping on Mad Decent).
Dillon was quoted in an interview with inthemix:
“My album isn’t going to come out in May because of the album strategy that we have, so now it’s been pushed back ’til July, which is kind of a bummer. It’s all like these weird semantics of labels that they have to have this release structure – which I understand now, but at the beginning I didn’t. I’m kind of bummed, but I get it.”
Dillon also mentions he has a couple single releases dropping before the LP, including his recent heater “Get Low” with Dj Snake that we’ve included below. And make sure to peep his recent Triple J Guest Mix if you haven’t yet.
