Baauer is back at it. Showcasing this huge tune all over the festival circuit this year, Higher, his brand new track and short film to accompany it has dropped today. The track features the likes of two of the game’s heaviest hitters as Just Blaze and Jay Z team up with trap music’s favorite son. Thump premiered the music video, which might symbolize the take over of a younger hungry generation, ready to raise hell. It’s actually rad. The track is a certified banger, and although its official release was today, it’s been played in pretty much every trap set I’ve heard this summer and it never fails to get the crowd amped. It is also pretty cool to see Jay Z step into the electronic game, a move we have been anticipating for a while now. Jay Z embodies the passing generation of hip-hop music, what many people consider to be the genre’s Golden Age. As trap music has its roots in hip hop and has found significant momentum in the last year, having Hov himself nod in approval is gratifying and exciting all at once. This track also greatly reflects Baauer’s growth over the last year or so, and he is quickly defining himself as a name to be reckoned with.
