Madeon took the dance world by storm in 2011 after releasing a live mashup video performed on a Novation Launchpad dubbed, Pop Culture. That was nearly enough to send him traveling around the world at the young age of 17. Nearly four years later, he is finally slated to release his debut album.
We can expect to see ‘Adventure’ on sale on March 31st and will feature big name collaborators such as Passion Pit, Mark Foster [Of Foster The People], and even 2014 breakout Dan Smith [of Bastille]. I’m still not sure what to expect from the full length album, at only 20 years old, it’s amazing to see this kind of maturity.
“The album is not really about dance music, so I was mostly interested in working with people outside of the dance world. I was lucky to work with some acts I’ve wanted to work with for years, but also new people I found out about recently. I wanted to sit down with other people and write songs. There was a human experience in making this that I never really experienced before working on my own music alone.” – Madeon tells Billboard
Madeon seems to have found a niche for himself in between ‘EDM’ and ‘pop music’ that he feels extremely comfortable in. Already he has produced tracks for names such as Ellie Goulding and Lady Gaga. It will be interesting to see how this album balances the two sounds.
