Let us introduce you to Diskord, a quickly rising trap duo out of Bristol. We got a chance to talk to them recently, and they put together a special minimix just for Run The Trap readers. They’re currently signed on Flux Pavillion’s Circus Records so you know they’re releasing nothing but straight bangers for us to enjoy. They’ve come out swinging in 2014 and they’re definitely one of the top artists to look out for in 2015. Check out our exclusive interview as well as the minimix and it’s tracklist below.

Would you like to introduce yourself to the RTT readers?
We’re Ed and James aka DISKORD. We’re from Bristol in the UK, we’re signed to Circus Records and we like beans on toast.
How did you guys get started making music?
We both started off pretty young playing instruments like drums and guitar, then got into messing around with crappy old computer programs like Dance eJay making beats. From there we just carried on learning and using less crappy programs to make less crappy beats.
Where do you get your inspiration when you’re making new music?
From listening to as much diverse music as possible – we always find the more you listen to the more ideas you have once you get into the studio. We listen to a lot of stuff that has nothing to do with our genre, whether it’s hip hop, J-pop… or something else that rhymes.
Who are some of your favourite producers/artists in the game right now?
Antiserum & Mayhem are two guys we look up to and really respect everything they’ve done. We’re also huge fans of people like Milo & Otis, Jack U, Loudpvck and Gladiator – they just deliver every single time, and that’s a pretty rare thing these days. There’s also a guy called Wiwek who has such a fresh sound that he calls “Jungle Terror” and we’re all over that at the moment.
Let’s talk about your recent signing with Circus Records. What was it like when you started approached by them and how does it feel to be working with them now?
They were on our wish list when we first started so obviously it’s been a dream come true to get to work with them. They’ve been nothing but awesome from the get-go, and we feel pretty lucky to have a home with them.
Any collabs or other big releases in the works you can tell us about?
Our second single on Circus is out on December 1st – it’s called Release Me and it’s definitely one of the tracks we’re most proud of. We’ve done remixes of two of the biggest dogs in the game that will be out next year and that’s pretty damn exciting for us.
What can we expect from Diskord in 2014 and beyond?
We’ve already got a couple of releases with Circus planned for the start of 2015. Also we’ve just been talking with two of our favourite producers about a collab project that will be happening early next year… so yeah 2015 is looking pretty epic so far. Other than that you can expect to see us out on the road now that we’ve started booking shows.
Anything else in the works you wanted us to touch on?
There probably is but we’re not allowed to talk about it yet!
