When French newcomer Snails and label-hopping power hitter Antiserum teamed up for “Wild,” the result was one of the biggest tracks of 2014. The snarling trap-step crossover cut took over the summer making its way through speakers everywhere from warehouses to main stages. Now, OWSLA Records is looking to get even rowdier with a remix package of ante-upping reinterpretations, featuring spins by some power-hitter producers.
The package includes remixes from Henry Fong, DJ Craze, and Must Die!, and Far Too Loud, each rework more wild than the next. To round the whole collection off, Snails and Antiserum revisit their blistering bass gem for a VIP remix too. Henry Fong’s cut is a hypnotic electro-house cut, while Craze opts to go with a bouncy, hip-hop inspired cut complete with keen scratch work. Far Too Loud’s contribution also cruises at the dance tempo but employs a head-spinning, high-octane shot of energy that is vastly different than Fong’s product. Must Die! comes through with an acid-gargling dubstep monster rework which ties the whole effort together.
Each spin features a uniquely creative take on one of the year’s biggest jams. “Wild” established Snails as a force to be reckoned with and reflects Antiserum in veteran top-form. Now, OWSLA is bringing you a handful of remix selections that deliver their own knockout punches.
