Chicago festival goers have a very specific way to celebrate Labor Day Weekend. For many people it’s the symbol of Summer finally coming to an end and Fall is starting to creep in. But there is good news. North Coast Music Festival is finally back again. For the first time in the fest’s history, it will be moving away from Union Park. The 2019 edition of North Coast will take place at beautiful Northerly Island right on the lake. Besides having one of the best views of the Chicago skyline, Northerly Island’s sound curfew lets outdoor music go an extra hour longer. Unlike most outdoor Chicago events, headliners on Friday and Saturday will have the freedom to perform until 11 PM as opposed to 10 PM.
But not only does North Coast have a brand new location, and, an extended curfew – it has a pretty fantastic 2 day lineup. Check out some of our favorite acts heading to Northerly Island in Chicago this Labor Day Weekend. Tickets are still on sale.
INZO
Inzo has had a fantastic year, and odds are you’ve heard his incredibly forward-thinking tune, “Overthinker” somewhere – even if you didn’t know it was by thing young producer. With an EP on its way coming on Liquid Stranger’s Wakaan Imprint, you are bound to hear some of it before his EP Release Party on Friday night after the festival.
Wooli
Wooli has claimed his name as one of the heavy-hitters of the dubstep world. His work ethic and heavy production style quickly garnered the attention of other big names in the scene, and it wasn’t long before he started headlining his own shows. He’s clocked in some huge collaborations already and even has an EP with Excision on the horizon.
Snakehips
Over the past few years, anytime I see Snakehips on a lineup I can expect to have one hell of a good time. Their sets are loaded with all of their crowd pleasers, and they sprinkle in a great assortment of everything from hip-hop to future bass to house music. They consistently are not only creating – but – finding the best tracks with one goal in mind – make you dance.
i_O
i_O‘s unique sound has created a nice niche for himself. His brand of mainstage, ‘big-room’ techno gives his music the ability to fill most kinds of rooms. A dark sweaty nightclub? i_O fits. Opening up one of the main stages at EDC Las Vegas? i_O can do that too. Find out why when he makes his North Coast debut this year.
Aftershows
Just because North Coast starts at 11:00 PM – it doesn’t mean that the party ends. Far from it. North Coast will be taking over 3 different venues on Friday and Saturday – with an additional aftershow on Sunday evening. Concord Music Hall is hosting a trio of incredible shows, starting off with Flux Pavilion on Friday, Tchami on Saturday, and closing out Labor Day weekend on Sunday night with an ‘Off The Deep End’ set from Jauz.
