UPDATE: Good news was delivered overnight as they announced via Twitter that the playa at Black Rock City has now once again been opened. As far as the Burning Man webcast can tell us, looks like a beautiful day in the Playa. Hopefully the rain they received helps cut down on the infamous brutal blowing sand. So many incredible music producers and DJs are enroute to the festival, which is scheduled to continue until Monday, September 1.
Most notably, super duo Jack U (Skrillex And Diplo, C’mon dude!) are ready to deliver a memorable set. They are scheduled to play Thursday night following a b2b set from Minnesota and G Jones. Sounds nuts so if you’re there, you best be checking that out.
Once again, enjoy yourselves this next week and stay safe. <3 RTT

Everyone heading to Burning Man will be disappointed to learn that the gates to Black Rock City have been closed due to rain. The festival takes place in a dry lake alkaline lake bed and when it gets wet, the fine dust turns into a sludge that makes it impossible for cars to traverse. Luckily, the rain should move out tonight and the Playa should be dry enough for burning by Tuesday afternoon. From the official twitter:
BRC is closed until midday Tuesday due to rain and standing water. At the request of organizers, law enforcement is turning cars back. — Burning Man (@burningman) August 25, 2014
So, if you’re out there, stay put! There’s nothing worse than sitting in that very very long line of cars just to be told you have to turn around and try again tomorrow! Be safe out there and keep an eye here and to twitter for updates.
