There’s nothing quite like the rush you get from hearing new music from your favorite artist after an agonizing wait. It’s a high like no other and we’re hoping that 2019 is the year that our thirst is finally quenched from the artists below. Take a look at some of the albums we’re looking forward to in 2019 below.
DJ Snake
The hype for DJ Snake‘s new album has been brewing since last summer and after a wildly successful 2018 that saw “Taki Taki,” his massive collab with Selena Gomez, Cardi B and Ozuna riding high on the charts, we’re fully expecting Snake to drop his sophomore album this year. Especially since he’s started dropping hints about it over Twitter in December. Though we don’t have an exact date, we feel good predicting that Snake will deliver a round of heavy festival bangers and chart-topping hits in 2019.
Skrillex
Every year we anxiously wait for Skrillex to drop his next studio album and we’re hoping that 2019 is the year that the stars finally align in our favor. Ever since his debut album Recess and his collaborative Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack Ü album with Diplo worked their magic on our ears, we’ve been keeping an eye out for any hint of his next full-length album. Though concrete details on a new album have not been released, we’re speculating that we’ll get some kind of new music if not a full album this year.
Gesaffelstein
Back in December, Gesaffelstein announced his upcoming second studio album Hyperion. Recently Gesaffelstein dropped his sensual single “Lost In The Fire” featuring The Weeknd and its got fans on pins and needles waiting for the official release date. We’re betting that the album drops sooner rather than later as he continues to roll out new music.
Flume
After a silent 2018, the need for new Flume music has reached an all-time high. Recently news broke that the Australian producer has been in the studio with Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn and the thirst is real. The potential of what is to come is mindblowing as the wait for new Flume music continues. Hopefully, we’ll get a single soon or an album announcement.
Calvin Harris
After confirming new music at the end of December, Calvin Harris started the year offering his brand new single “Giant” featuring Rag’n’Bone. Sending his fans into overdrive with demands for collabs and the next album, Calvin Harris should deliver some fantastic new tunes throughout the year. As we wait for the possibility of Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2, we’ll take some hit singles to hold us over.
The Chainsmokers
The Chainsmokers have found success on the dance charts with several singles. Released back in December, their second studio album Sick Boy implied that the duo evolved from their frat boy sound. Offering a more refined approach to their music, Sick Boy let The Chainsmokers expand into uncharted territory. With that chapter officially behind them, it gives the duo plenty of time to up their production game and experiment. We expect to see new music and perhaps an EP or album in the works.
JOYRYDE
Last year we thought that we’d get JOYRYDE‘s debut album Brave, however technical issues lead to a change in release. We’ve been patiently waiting with anticipation since his Skrillex collaboration “AGEN WIDA” dropped and it’s only fueled more theories of potential collaborations and album details. While we might not have a set date, JOYRYDE has confirmed that he will deliver new music and the album this year.
Marshmello
If there is one producer that knows how to keep us guessing, it’s Marshmello. Known to switch between genres during his sets, as an artist, he prefers to continue to push musical boundaries. The wait for new music from Marshmello should be short as there are already a few hip-hop and pop tracks already confirmed for 2019. His highly anticipated third studio album Joytime III is scheduled for release on June 28.
ODESZA
Though an announcement hasn’t been made and any hint of a new album has been scarce, we wouldn’t be surprised if Odesza dropped new music in 2019. It’s been two years since we were blessed with their last album A Moment Apart which is on par with the time frame between each of their previous album releases. With their Sundra Festival scheduled to make its debut in March, we’re thinking that it’s going to be the perfect place for Odesza to debut new music and possibly announce their next album.
LSD
In a short amount of time, Diplo‘s supergroup LSD have created impressive pop anthems that seamlessly draw listeners in. Combining the strength of Labrinth, Sia, and Diplo, LSD is said to have an album ready to slip into our speakers and be played at full volume. Announced by Columbia Records last year and confirmed by Sia and Diplo in several interviews, there is no official date yet but we know that it’s only a matter of time before it gets released.
Illenium
While there’s been no indication as of yet that Illenium will be dropping a new album this year, it’s definitely a strong possibility. His debut album Ashes dropped in 2016 with Awake following in 2017. He’s ridden the Awake wave for two years and closed out 2018 with his Awake 2.0 tour, which signals that he’s closing the chapter on that book and ready to start a new one.
Gryffin
Titled Gravity, Gryffin‘s highly anticipated debut album isn’t one to sleep on. Though Part I of the album came out in December, Part II is said to see the light of day sometime at the beginning of 2019. With a ton of shows scheduled on his Gravity tour, it’s safe to say that Gryffin’s debut album will come sooner rather than later and can most likely be heard at one of his live shows.
Kaytranada
Last year, Kaytranada surprised us with a lot of new music and we’re hoping that trend continues with the release of the album that he’s been working on for the past year. Clearly putting in the time to craft straight eargasms for our listening pleasure, Kaytranada is an expert at keeping us on edge as we wait for his next batch of new music. Keep an eye out for this genius to unleash some fire goodies in 2019.
Party Favor
2019 is going to be a big year for Party Favor as he prepares to make some huge changes in his shows and production. Over the past year, he’s showed off his versatility as an artist and delivered a refreshing round of new music. With the promise of his upcoming album in 2019, Party Favor is on his way to having a fantastic year.
Ekali
Last October, Ekali took to Twitter and announced that he would be dropping a full-length album in 2019 which ignited a thirst like no other among fans. Promising no collabs, no ghost production and that he would mix and master it himself, Ekali raised expectations. With the undeniable hype that followed the release of his Crystal Eyes EP, all eyes remain on the rising artist.
Big Wild
Big Wild has grown into one of the hottest acts in the electronic scene. Scheduled for release on February 1st, Big Wild’s debut album Superdream might just be one of the best indie-electronic offerings of 2019. Previous single releases from the upcoming album have been stellar, to say the least, and we’re anxious to experience the magical wonderland this mastermind has created for us in the studio.
Kill Paris
Kill Paris has been leading us on since early last year about his upcoming sophomore album Galaxies Within Us. The followup to his 2015 Galaxies Between Us debut is set to drop February 14th via Monstercat. We’ve already seen a handful of singles like “I (Still) Dream Of You,” “Two Minds,” and most recently “Magic” and it’s only left us wanting more. Following the album, Kill Paris is hitting the road for a headline tour.
Jai Wolf
It’s been about two years since Jai Wolf released his Kindred Spirits EP, but he’s kicking off the new year with the announcement of his debut album, The Cure To Loneliness. In addition, Jai Wolf is launching a brand new tour that will span over 27 cities. With a confirmed April 5th release date, this album could be some of Jai Wolf’s finest work to date.
