Just a couple of months ago, news broke out when the Miami City Commission of Planning and Zoning unanimously voted to remove Ultra Music Festival from Bayfront Park in downtown Miami. Leaving the future of the 3-day festival in question, many spectators and hopeful concertgoers stayed vigilante in supporting their next move.
Shortly after, Ultra released a proposal declaring Virginia Key would be the new home for the flagship festival. Leaving fate once again in the hands of the cities board of commission, they have just voted and agreed on a 2-year contract to hold the 3-day event in Key Biscayne.
The most notable takeaways from the representatives of the festival mentioned the introduction of Shuttles and Ferries in order to mass transport attendees to the grounds. This is surely only a spec of the new traditions that will be brought in order to ensure a smooth and safe weekend of partying. A hint at deducting the number of stages was also dropped due to the concern of sound-bleeding. Much more information will be announced soon but the grand-opening of a new home for Ultra is nonetheless exciting!
