Kicking things off with the project’s titular track, the saxophone-laden “Foxgloves” reaches the deepest caverns in our hearts. Embracing heartache and passion, “Foxgloves” is a melodic reminder to keep those you love close. “Find Someone Else” follows in second, a sonic soundscape that echoes voices of those who have been taken for granted one too many times.
Continuing his story through sound, “Burning Me” comes as an emotional pairing of stunning melodies and lush vocals from Bri Tolani, which tugs at the heartstrings with each aching chord progression. “Unattainable” follows harmoniously, showcasing Fluencee’s raw musical talent for all things pop and future bass alongside the feathery vocal stylings of Lilianna Wilde. His knack of blending sensual vocals with his own percussive elements and synths shines through and through.
Wrapping up his Foxgloves EP is “Tell Me You Love Me,” a symphony of twinkling synths and crooning vocals beckoning “Tell me you love me, tell me you’re sorry,” something far too many of us all but wish to hear. Fluencee’s Foxgloves EP is a gift of sound from beginning to end, and pushes the emotional threshold through its truly cinematic narrative.
“This record is a long time coming for me. It explores bullying, loss of love, and a number of other motifs that have shaped who I am today. And I couldn’t be more proud of it.” – Fluencee
