One of the albums that continues to stay in the conversation this year is Overload. The emo in all of us comes out with this intense crossover album. Kayzo does this sound justice. The LA native has skyrocketed into one of the most exciting DJs to see live. With a stellar album, must come a tour.
I had the opportunity to come out and experience the event myself. One of the many reasons I was insanely hyped was the supporting lineup. JSTJR, Gammer, Dubloadz, 4B, and Kayzo. I don’t know about you but that sounds like the seventh layer of hell to me, I mean that in the best way possible of course. You have a little bit of every style curated in this tour. Moombahton, Trap, Hardcore, Dubstep, Jersey-Club, Hardstyle. Pick your poison. I knew I had to sacrifice every bit of energy in me.
I knew this crowd was going to be rowdy and passionate. In little to no time, fans were rushing into the venue. JSTJR warmed concertgoers up with his alluring mixture of moombahton and trap. Gammer was a testimony to how diverse this crowd was going to get. Importing his happy hardcore sound, fans quickly eased into it. Gammer personally was such a huge surprise, one of my favorite sets of the night. 4B absolutely crushed souls with his intense mesh of every-genre-possible. I’m talking 30-second transitions with no room to breathe. Tough act to follow but lying ahead was the main event.
The production, visuals, and interludes for Kayzo’s set were far more than impressive. The whole set was complemented very well by visual aids and the energy was non stop. The performance consisted of both material from the album along with a plethora of nostalgic punk anthems. The vibe was unreal and everybody sang their hearts out. The Overload tour is something you must not miss. It is essentially a mini-festival touring across the continent.
