Kicking off what should be an exciting year for the 25-year-old, we caught up with Prince Fox to chat all things music and his new song ‘Open Invite‘. In this brief interview, we discussed songwriting, his studio setup, and what it means for him to become a “true artist”.
Who would you say influences you the most musically? How do you incorporate that into the music you make now?
“Honestly – this answer changes every day. I listen to so much music on Spotify these days that I could be thinking about any sort of genre/ sound at any moment. With that said, some staples of my library include John Mayer, Bruno Mars, Cardi B, Two Feet, Dallas K, King Henrey, etc.” – Prince Fox
What is your mindset like when you write lyrics? Are these songs based on personal experiences?
“I struggle with self-confidence issues, which I imagine most artist’s do, but recently, especially with the album process, I have really been feeling like I am finally making music that I like, and I feel represents me as an artist and writer; and that feels really good.” – Prince Fox
“I can’t say too much, but I can say I am singing on pretty much every song, I am playing a lot of different instruments on it, and sonically it will be both reminiscent of things that I have done in the past, but also tackle some new soundscapes/ styles that I have yet to put out into the world. Excited to share!” – Prince Fox
