Earlier this week, rumors started flying that Michigan’s Electric Forest would be expanding to two weekends in 2017. Today, the festival has confirmed it, calling it an “intimate expansion.”
This year, Electric Forest will run for back to back weekends from June 22-25 and June 29 – July 2. Unlike dual-weekend-festival, Coachella, who’s experiences each weekend are very similar, EF organizers plan to make each weekend different from the other.
As far as attendance size, each weekend will be smaller than Electric Forest typically is, with a 10% reduction in tickets available planned for each weekend. That brings it down to about 40,000 attendees per weekend.
