One very big event stands between you and the end of the Summer festival season… a little festival by the name of Tomorrowworld. The sister festival of Belgium’s legendary Tomorrowland. 2014 being only its second year it pulled more than 160 THOUSAND people. In just a few days, Atlanta will be invaded by thousands of music-hungry fans and performers for an incredible three days. I know it’s going to be hard to see everyone you want in those short three days, so here is some of our favorite acts playing at Tomorrowworld 2015. I know what you’re thinking “Oh they’re just gonna live at the Trap Stage!” Well..we might, but we will branch out a bit. I promise 😉
Hope to see some of you out there!
TomorrowWorld
Friday
Peking Duk
Main Stage – 3:00 -4:00
After seeing Peking Duk play a set with way too much energy that early in the day at Lollapalooza, these guys are a must see on the main-stage at Tomorrowworld. They inject their unique australian energy into their high energy, multi-genre sets with ease.
NGHTMRE
It’s A Trap – 4:00 – 5:00
Unless you’ve been living under a rock all summer, there’s no way you haven’t seen NGHTMRE‘s name pop up through your newsfeed. This dude is due for an R.L. Grime like explosion of popularity after releasing quite possibly the year’s trap anthem with “Street.” The sky’s the limit for this young producer, catch him before he blows up.
Steve Angello
Main Stage – 8:30 – 10:00
Steve Angello isn’t your average main-stage house DJ. Since the split of Swedish House Mafia, he has been hard at work with his record label, Size Matters which constantly puts out songs of substance, many not seen as ‘bangers.’ It’s going to be an hour and a half inside Steve Angello’s brain. A brain that is absolutely packed with great music. If you make your way to main stage for one post sundown performer, make it Mr. Angello
Bro Safari
It’s A Trap -11:45pm – 1:00am
If you’ve never been a witness to a Bro Safari set, then make Tomorrowworld 2015 the first time to do it. He’s one of the more experienced performers on the lineup, and will absolutely prove it while closing out the trap-flavored stage on Friday night.
Saturday
Slander
Main Stage – 4:00 – 5:00
The Main Stage does not know what they signed up for by having Slander on the main stage. They will combine their hard-hitting trap hits that put them on the map in the first place and blend it into all sorts of genres until they reach the appropriate amount of ‘controlled chaos’ they strive for.
Seven Lions
Mythical Frames – 8:45 – 10:00
Seven Lions is one of the most multi-talented producers creating music. He blends this amazing knowledge of trance, dub, classical and everything in between to create compositions that absolutely no one can mimic. You will say “Holy shit, that was some of the prettiest music I have ever heard…and some of the heaviest music I have ever heard.”
Gramatik
Mythical Frames – 10:00 – 11:30
In a music world filled with bangers, Gramatik has no problem sticking to beats. The Gramatik project combines gorgeous organic sounds, with masterful productions that delve into the unknown. The twists and turns of a Gramatik set is always a surprise…but I promise it will get you grooving.
Sunday
Laidback Luke
Main Stage – 6:00 – 7:30
Probably the most technically sound DJ on the lineup, Laidback Luke regularly juggles 4 CDJ’s with no problem. His passion for blending songs together into one cohesive set makes him a must-see. His love for music, and the drive to perfect the art of being a DJ puts him a step above most performers. Expect to hear house hits of all sorts during this set with sprinkles of other genres. In the mix below he crams 48 songs into 58 minutes…just to give you an idea.
Keys N Krates
Mythical Frames – 7:30 -9:00
The festival gods must have been angered when they scheduled Keys N Krates, Snails and Wave Racer all at the same time. If you’re like me and don’t like splitting sets, then you’re going to have to make a choice. I love you Snails, I love you Wave Racer, but I’m gonna have to go check out Keys N Krates. Their unique live set-up is the kicker. The canadian trio combines a live drumkit, turntables and a synthesizer to perform live versions of their glitched out, chopped up trap hits along with live remixes of hip-hop songs.
Porter Robinson
LIVE – 11:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Porter Robinson has had a crazy year. After completely revamping his style and putting out one of the coolest albums of the year, Worlds, he took his new album live on the road. A kind of show that many EDM fans hadn’t seen before. It combined the emotions of his album, with some of the coolest visual displays. Think Kawaii + Etheral + Tumblr and you might have an idea of what to expect. He might be retiring the Worlds set soon, so catch it before it’s lost!
