Ten Walls Dropped From Agency, Label & Major Festivals Following Homophobic Comments

You may remember Lithuanian artist Ten Walls aka Marijus Adomaitis aka Mario Basanov for the hit he made called, “Walking with Elephants.” You may not remember him at all, and quite frankly, even if you do, it is time to forget.

Another artist has ruined their career in just a few moves, which included some homophobic remarks via a Facebook status. The homophobic remarks have since been removed and replaced with an apology, but unfortunately for Ten Walls, the damage has been done. According to THUMP, on June 3rd, Adomaitis expressed his opinion about homosexuals, calling them another breed and likening them to pedophiles. One thing even artists in the limelight so easily forget, is that someone is always watching, waiting for you to slip. With regard to this issue, and with this artists, it has been made clear that there will not be second chances. The community has sort of made that abundantly clear with their outrage on the Internet.

For all that the dance music scene is accused of being, intolerance and inequality are two things we take very seriously. Ten Walls was dropped from Creamfields and removed from the bill of a number of other festivals, including HARD Fest, and cancelled a larger number of shows. It is pretty safe to consider his entire career cancelled.

There is a silver lining in all of this nonsense, and that is dance music’s zero tolerance policy for this type of bigotry. Honestly, this guy was deleted from our existence by the time we were asking who he even was in the first place. But after this, everyone can feel free to delete him and all his tracks once they finish reading this article. We should be proud to be a part of a group of people that serve only to build one another up, not hate or tear each other down. We are unafraid to be exactly who we are, and that is a beautiful thing.

The gay community has waged war on this dude, gratuitously nails in the proverbial coffin for the industry’s latest dead man walking. It has made the interwebs pretty interesting.
