After generating buzz with last year’s NYC debut and announcing the second edition a few months ago, complete with a stacked 2025 lineup featuring Major Lazer, Dillon Francis, Slander, Malaa, and more, Pulse Events has announced a major pivot: S2O NYC 2.0 is now officially rebranded as Great Heat Festival (大暑).
Originally planned as the second installment of S2O (Songkran water festival) NYC, the event has moved from the Brooklyn Mirage to The Great Hall at Avant Gardner due to unforeseen production limitations. But instead of pulling the plug, the team behind the scenes doubled down — creating a culturally rooted new identity that turns a logistical challenge into a celebration of resilience and unity.
The name Great Heat (大暑) draws from the Chinese lunisolar calendar, marking the final and hottest solar term of summer. It’s a fitting metaphor for an event that has weathered adversity and emerged with renewed purpose.
“This isn’t a cancellation — it’s a collective solution,” said Pulse Events CEO Luffy Huang. “We’ve reimagined the show without compromising the lineup or spirit, and we’re proud to keep the AAPI cultural theme alive in a new form.”
Great Heat Festival takes place July 25–26 at The Great Hall, with all existing tickets honored. Fans who already purchased tickets for S2O NYC 2.0 will have their passes honored for the new venue and concept. Expect more announcements soon about updated activations and enhanced production details that will elevate the experience even further.
Please contact dice.fm/refund by 12PM ET on Friday, July 18 if you would like to request a full refund.
Stay tuned for more updates as the festival approaches — and in the meantime, grab your tickets here and prepare for a summer scorcher, soundtracked by some of dance music’s finest.
