PREMIERE: Gastel is here to turn bass music on its head

Austin based producer and artist, Gastel, has set out on a mission to bridge the gap between industrial techno and mid-tempo bass, and as his first step he releases his debut single “Rene” via Magic Magic. 

While the name might be new to the masses, he is no stranger to music. He previously worked under the moniker Far & Few, and more recently decided it was time to take a step further into his artistry, therefore creating his solo project Gastel. Pulling from influences like Dopplereffekt and Gesaffelstein, he pushes the boundaries of sound design using numerous analog synthesizers and unique instrumentation, to truly create an industrial sound of his own. 
From the first moments of “Rene,” the listener is automatically transported to a dark and ominous soundscape full of haunting fx. With hints of techno, the song builds up with an explosive strumming bassline studded with hard hitting kicks and snares, which is sure to leave you on your toes until the very end. It’s no doubt that with his hard hitting and clean productions, Gastel’s EOS EP in 2020 will be something to keep your eye out for.
