Celebrity paneled music competition shows have been around for decades. Between American Idol and The Voice, fans have seen artists like Adam Levine, Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Gwen Stefani take their seats as judges. A few months ago, Netflix announced that it would be teaming up with hip-hop icons Chance The Rapper, Cardi B, and T.I. to find rap music’s next superstar.
