Pulling out all the stops for the arrival of the star-studded live-action remake of The Lion King, Disney has enlisted Beyoncé to curate an album inspired by the film. Filled with collaborations alongside Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams, and co-star Childish Gambino, The Lion King: The Gift is a musical companion that carries the magic and cultural artistry projected in the film. Amidst the 27 tracks, Beyoncé surprised electronic fans with a Major Lazer collaboration. The two are the perfect fit for the project, as Major Lazer’s inherent Afro-funk inspiration beautifully compliments Beyoncé motivations as the album’s executive producer.
