During his residency at this year’s Coachella, multi-platinum star Kid Cudi, with the help of Postmates, ordered 10k worth of Popeyes Chicken to be sent to the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission. Placing the order before his Friday (April 19) set, Cudder wanted to give back to the shelter, who provides for hundreds of homeless people in surrounding Indio, California with meals and housing.
TMZ broke the story on Monday (April 22), the meal included Popeyes’ signature chicken, biscuits, mashed potatoes, and fries. Delivered by Postmates, who also is currently involved with Cudi on a collaboration campaign for a signature meal by the entertainer, titled, “Munchies Meal”.
A 4/20-themed collaboration meal that was available in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Miami, and Chicago, the list curates Cudi’s favorite items from the five major cities. Many are recognizing the act of kindness as part of a string of Hip Hop activism that has been sparked with the passing of Grammy-nominated recording artist/entrepreneur Nipsey Hussle.
Cudi paid respect to the recently slain entertainer during his week one Coachella set with a special performance of his hit song, “Pursuit of Happiness”.
