Austin-based duo Bronze Whale have consistently enamored us with their sultry futuristic R&B soundscapes. Expertly blending elements of electronic, indie, and pop, Bronze Whale have become a force to be reckoned with. Over the past couple of months, the duo has debuted a number of singles which added their own vocals to their intricate productions and each has intensified their signature sound. Ahead of their debut album The Shape Of Things, Bronze Whale have unveiled their first original of the year “Cruising”. Flush with pulsating synths, ethereal percussion, and ghostly vocals, “Cruising” is a sensual nighttime vibe. Bronze Whale’s unique style is hypnotic and moving and sure to glimmer across their upcoming 11-track album. Be on the lookout for Bronze Whale’s debut album The Shape Of Things out this April and stream “Cruising” below.
Pulling from tracks like the Adam K and Soha remix of “4am” and the slow pulsing intros of Flume, I had been wanting to make a ‘night drive’ song for a really long time. That led to a huge emphasis to be placed on having really simple chords with minor changes that had to really fill the dynamic range. Aaron really brought it to life with his treatment. With such hulking synths and drums, the attention to detail on shaping the parts and fitting them perfectly in that space was paramount. It delivered exactly the feeling we wanted. That first moment when the lights hit and a show begins. Cruise control on an open highway. Enjoying the night. – Bronze Whale
