Legendary UK breakbeat champion Krafty Kuts is back again with a new EP Fresh Ingredients, out on Westwood Recordings.
This multi-award winning turntablist has been one of the leading pioneers of breakbeat music for decades. His unstoppable mixing skills are matched only by that of his productions. After pushing releases on countless labels such as OWSLA, Ministry of Sound, DMC, and Finger Lickin’ Records, Krafty Kuts is now adding Vancouver-based label Westwood Recordings to his extensive repertoire. Fresh Ingredients is an eight-track album that expertly combines the flavors of old school UK breakbeat with contemporary electronic.
The EP kicks off with “Fearless” a funky glitch hop tune featuring award-winning musician and long-time collaborator Dynamite MC, whose timeless stylings appear three more times on the album with groovy electro-breaks track “Light it Up“, slap-bass single “Impact” and talkbox hip hop mix “Ain’t no Doubt” also featuring Spell on vocals. This mad fresh EP elevates to the uplifting with “Horizon” and gets down with G-House hit “4Gee$“. Whatever the mood, Fresh Ingredients has a tasteful palate to fit the vibe.
Throughout Krafty Kuts’ prolific career he has owned his own chain of record stores, run music labels, and played for crowds of up to 40,000 alongside legendary names such as The Rolling Stones and The Prodigy. And that’s just scratching the surface. Krafty Kuts is a tireless master of his craft whose skills are matched by few. Fresh Ingredients is an excellent showcase of his ability to remain true to his roots whilst adapting to the evolution of electronic music styles throughout the ages.
