A longstanding lawsuit against Skrillex has finally reached it’s end. A jury awarded Jennifer Fraissl $4.5M in compensation for a stage diving incident in 2012 involving the all star producer. The court did say that she was 15% responsible for the incident so she will not be receiving the full amount. Instead she will get ~$3.8M $1.8M of which Skrillex must pay himself. $1.6M must be paid by Skrillex’s tour company Lost Boys and the Belasco (the place where the incident occurred) must pay out $450k.
“There is nothing more important to me than my fans and their safety at my shows,” Skrillex said in a statement following the ruling. “I want them to have fun and enjoy the music. While I’m disappointed by the jury’s decision, I’m glad this process is over. I look forward to getting back to work and delivering new music to my fans.”
Fraissl claimed that she was unable to avoid the flying DJ causing her injury and a stroke 16 days later. You can watch a video of the incident below.
