Ekali Brings His Brand To Life On The ‘Crystal Eyes’ Tour [REVIEW]

Ekali is on the brink of greatness. After captivating fans with the release of his debut ‘Crystal Eyes‘ EP, the artist has fully invested his vision and brand into a live show. Building up an immense amount of hype leading up to this tour, he sent fans in a frenzy by announcing a lucrative support list. Enlisting 1788-L and Slumberjack for this run, concertgoers shrieked at the opportunity to see these rare acts for most likely the first time.

After being given the honor to come out and see the show for myself, I was instantly blown away at the energy and creativeness that ran rampant throughout the entire show. For many reasons, this night was very important for the Bay Area crowd. This is 1788-L’s first touring run. After amassing a huge following catering to fans that seek a more brutal style of midtempo, the mysterious producer is finally wreaking havoc across the nation. It was certainly special to see 1788-L make his debut and play a killer set.

Onto the main event, Ekali’s stage presence allowed the crowd to reciprocate the liveliness to be felt across the whole venue. Treating fans to a full production emulating the art and styles of his Awakening Mixes, we were able to experience Ekali’s artistry in full. Starting off in intense fashion, the audience was in awe. Creating a rowdy ambiance, the fellow Canadian truly wowed us all by finishing his set off with fan favorite records and sending us home with a smile on our faces. Giving us a full set of differentiating moods, Ekali put his musical diversity on display and clearly showcased why he is one of the best-emerging headliners in 2018.
