Westwood Recordings has unleashed K+Lab’s newest release, a full-length album of interplanetary proportions. The Booty Galactic is a 14-track release whose orbital pull merges some of the grooviest sounds in the universe. From groovy g-funk and bouncy glitch hop, to deep house, hip hop, and drum and bass, this radiant album is propelled by unstoppable booty shakin’ forces loaded with beefy basslines, robotic vocals, and lively instrumentals.
Equipped with his signature keytar, K+Lab brings The Booty Galactic above and beyond, with a variety of all-star collaborations. Producers and vocalists like Def3, Canosis, The Funk Hunters, Late Night Radio, Mustafa Akbar and many more, add so much more flow and flair to K+Lab’s third studio release.
Both in music and life, K+Lab is making broad moves through the system. The Kiwi funk guru is seeing more recognition for his music including recent cinematic appearances. His new single “A Different Kind of Cold” was picked up for Jordan Peele’s upcoming web series “Weird City”, and his jubilant collab with Stickybuds “Clap Ya Hands Now” was the sonic backdrop for the Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer.
In 2017, K+Lab moved to Canada, where he began defining his sound. This album will now be the last vestige of his tireless music production in his Vancouver-based studio, as he prepares to relocate to the US for 2019.
New places, new sounds. As Caleb Cowie lifts off, he’ll bring with him the sounds that came before, blended with experiences to come.
