Lil Xan and Noah Cyrus were one of the hottest new couples of the year but their relationship promptly ended this weekend after they each took to Instagram to accuse each other of cheating. Just two weeks after releasing their collaborative single “Live or Die”, the short lived romance has turned into a massive social media battle stemming from a series of Instagram live stories. Lil Xan first posted a video claiming that their relationship was set up by Columbia Records and that he felt like he was being used. The 21 year old rapper continued, “I feel like I’m probably being cheated on.” Noah Cyrus then took to her Instagram story to combat these claims, first stating that their issues stemmed from a NSFW meme of Charlie Puth that she sent to Lil Xan. She posted the meme with the caption, “I’m heartbroken and confused. This is the meme I sent Diego that made him think I’m cheating on him.” She then asserted that it was Lil Xan who cheated and she had a picture of a hickey to prove it.
From there, Lil Xan followed up by refuting any disagreement regarding the Charlie Puth meme and instead explained that his accusation derived from a photo Cyrus posted on her Instagram of her hugging producer Ookay. Lil Xan commented, “Call me whatever but if you my girl you ain’t touching no dude like that,”. Xan also stated that he will be posting screenshots of their text message conversations which he believes will further corroborate his accusations.
The situation has devolved into one of the messiest celebrity breakups to date and left many fans quite confused. We’ll probably never know the entire story but both Lil Xan and Noah Cyrus have assured that neither of them cheated. Noah Cyrus is set to head out on her headlining tour later this month supporting her appropriately titled Good Cry EP, due out September 21st.
