Zimmer is sharing with us a true work of art. Art allows many talented minds to express themselves through creativity. Once an artist finds purpose, there simply is no way to hold back inspiration. That is exactly why I’m sharing the music video for Zimmer’s latest single. This rising star is putting people on notice through his vision.
“Landing” offers a vulnerable soundscape that is accompanied by a warm piano and eery percussion. Its use of ambiance adds a chilling effect to the music video presented in front of us. Inspired by his father’s work of researching Gravitational Waves, the visual aids opens our minds to some truly fascinating sights. The slowly paced film complements the soundtrack in the most perfect setting.
“In 2015, scientists detect Gravitational Waves for the first time. My father was one of them. This is the story of 30 years of research, the discovery of a lifetime. I’ve been profoundly moved by the discovery and Landing is an homage track to my father. Gravitational waves are ripples in space-time. They are caused by the most violent events in the universe, like the fusion of two black holes. They happen million of light years away, yet are smaller than the size of an atom. It is mind-blowing we were able to detect them. Their Nobel prized discovery will allow us to observe the Universe in a way never before possible. We had the unique chance to be able to shoot inside Virgo, the European Gravitational Waves observatory, located in Pisa, Italy. Every we shot is real, I wanted to show this incredible machine that’s huge but very precise at the same time” – Zimmer
