Speaker Of The House is back with another melodic masterpiece for you to dive into. “Ceasefire” is a lighthearted anthem that is poised to win you over with its charismatic melodies and charming sound design. Teaming up with Hicari, the vocal prowess complements the record to perfection. Offering a heartfelt duet, the vocals act as a decoy as you become lost in the relieving atmosphere. Just when your feelings are all pent up, the chorus spurs all emotions wild. The lyrics add a sense of vulnerability that’ll allow anyone to connect with the trials of heartbreak and change. This is the perfect record to enjoy for any road trip, hike, swim, or any night in.
“During this past winter I was introduced to Hicari, a girl and guy duo from London! We started passing stuff back and forth and eventually we decided to work on Ceasefire together. During those winter months I had been going through a lot of changes, and it almost felt like a chapter was ending and a new page was beginning. I’d just moved to my second place in LA, I had not released anything in while or played shows, and I was overcoming some personal, work, and relationship issues that felt pretty dark.
When I started working on Ceasefire I knew it would be different than my other music; the tempo was not suitable for house music, Ryan and Shay were a and duo, and I needed to step out of my comfort zone and make something that I could still be proud of, while in the “future” genre. What really got me attached was the message delivered through the song and powerful lyrics; which still resonate with me deeply. Laying our arms aside and leaving our differences at the door. Choosing peace over war. Overcoming hatred in favor of love… Personal, cultural, and global relationships immediately come to mind, but to me it also meant a huge victory overcoming some negative feelings I had about myself, and in my relationships. So doing this song helped me to feel resolved, inspired, and refreshed- ready for the next chapter.”
