Valentine was an artist we heard lots from in 2017, with his collaboration with 4AM titled “Us“, his cover of Estelle’s “American Boy” with Sophie Meiers and his edit of Fellow-Feeling by Porter Robinson which made its way around the festival circuit. In 2018 Valentine is bringing you something different, his first conceptual album. This project is Valentine’s love story with his fiancée and talks about all the things that come with a relationship. “Falling” is the first single released off the album of the same title, coming in episode format, this track is the first episode in the series to come. This track is bright, bubbly and infuses clever poppy songwriting. On this track, Valentine has enlisted the help of Halpe and features vocals from Chuck Sutton.
The story of this episode as told by Valentine is “Falling is the initial spark. When the two right people meet there is an undeniable force, a mysterious catalyst drawing them together. Whether a skittish glance across a room, a shared recognition of a special moment, or an inexplicable attraction, it’s obvious that this moment was always meant to happen. Nothing could have held these two bodies from the precipice of a cliff, sheltering them from the fall into ensuing beauty, agony, pleasure and envelopment. There is nothing deliberate about this plunge; neither person has any choice. For better or worse, they’re together until the end of this journey.”
