Cookie Monsta is BACK! The pioneer has been wreaking havoc on the world with his brutal sounds with intense dubstep sound. A small hiatus allowed the DJ to tour heavily across the globe leaving his imprint everywhere. The UK native returns to Circus Records with his latest track “Xterminate“. The deranged production takes inspiration from the sci-fi B-movies of yesteryear. We caught up with the legend to grab more details on the record.
It’s been nearly a year since you’ve put out original music of your own, Is there a reason for the hiatus?
“I’ve just been busy touring the world, playing lots of gigs and testing lots of new music. I’ve got plenty on its way through, is going to be an exciting year.” – Cookie Monsta
Logging in many hours making music, you know, with the long career that you’ve had, what do you do to sort of stay on top of your game physically and musically?
“It’s definitely a challenge, but I love what I do and I love my fans. All I want to do is make and play music that makes them want to have a great time, that keeps me pushing as hard as I can.” – Cookie Monsta
Your new track “Xterminate” possesses some interesting sampling, was it inspired by your interest in Sci-Fi movies?
“I love 60’s sci fi and b movies, Doctor Who was such an important part of British kids lives and the Daleks where always the big bad, legends.” – Cookie Monsta
What is your favorite kind of Sci-Fi movie?
“The most low budget kind.” – Cookie Monsta
This single marks the commencement of your year, any big news the fans should expect from you in 2018?
“Just that there’s lots of new beats coming, get yourself out to one of my shows if you want to hear what it’s all about.” – Cookie Monsta
