What started as a dream is now a reality. Three weeks ago, Prince Fox enticed fans to convince him to cover an all time favorite, Jimmy Eat World‘s “The Middle”. Well, it didn’t take much convincing for the king of future pop to reinvent the 2001 rock classic. Prince Fox spins the track into a lush and innovative thrush of thumping guitar strums, sultry echoing vocals, and glittery pop infested synths. There’s an edginess to his downtempo pop remix that takes the track to a silky, dreamy state of mind. Prince Fox completely reimagines the Jimmy Eat World original, giving the track a laidback, soulful vibe that is utterly irresistible.
“Jimmy Eat World’s album, ‘Bleed American’ was basically the soundtrack to my high school career. When I was on the hockey teem, both “Sweetness” and “Bleed American” were on our team’s warm up playlist for before games. Additionally I played lead guitar in my schools band that played “The Middle” at our graduation. Most importantly though, I absolutely loved the song and thought it would be cool to do a more chilled out, windows down version of the song as the weather finally starts to get warm again this month and next.” – Prince Fox
