For years Australia has been putting out some of the hottest producers to hit the electronic scene. With an innovative style and unique approach to sound design, big names like Flume, What So Not, and Alison Wonderland quickly took the U.S. music scene by storm. Fellow Aussie producers Naderi, Slumberjack, Peking Duk, Luude and Enschway all made massive strides in 2017 and today, we’ve got a list of 15 of Australia’s hottest producers that are killing the underground scene and posed to make some serious moves in 2018.
Young Franco had a huge 2017. From sold out shows to chart-topping house anthems, Young Franco delivered a stream of sizzling hits in 2017. Featuring an intoxicating combination of catchy beats, crisp percussion work and electric grooves, Young Franco continues to push boundaries as he develops his sound. With a highly anticipated EP on the way, 2018 is bound to be another unstoppable year for the Brisbane producer.

Perto is definitely a show stunner. The 15 year old prodigy has been throwing down insane live sets at clubs throughout Australia and let’s just say that the crowd’s response to him is unreal. From singing along to bass drops to losing their minds with every twist and turn Perto delivers high energy sets that his fans can’t get enough of. Boasting a musical catalog filled with some of the most impressive remixes and flips to hit the internet, the sky is the limit for this young producer. Watch him turn this crowd into a riot and keep an eye for Perto in the future, we expect him to do huge things in 2018.

If you haven’t heard of Sippy, let me introduce you to this Bass powerhouse. Blasting anthems at every opportunity, the recent ICON Music graduate has honed her bass-forward sound into a fearless, chills inducing catalog of heavy heaters that will leave you searching for the nearest rail. From her remix of Slumberjack’s “RA” to her heavy take on Skrillex’s “Would You Ever” ft. Poo Bear, Sippy spent all of 2017 putting out monster bass bangers. With more new music on the horizon, we’re hoping to see her break into the U.S. bass scene and add to her ever growing fan bass in 2018.

Leotrix might not be on your radar yet, but he should be. Offering a variety of heavy trap heaters and future bass stunners, Leotrix delivers some of the filthiest live sets. First hitting our radar with his Arrowhead EP in 2017, Leotrix really snagged our attention and left us speechless with his final release of 2017 “Error.” With an upcoming collab with Enschway on it’s way, Leotrix is on track to become a household name. BADRAPPER puts in some serious work. Delivering high octane sets and fresh bangers to break your neck to, BADRAPPER made 2017 his year to shine and never seemed to fail. With a knack for producing straight fire, BADRAPPER quickly began to develop a reputation for putting out hard hitting tracks with breath stealing drops and death defying builds. Reaching new heights with each release one thing is for certain, BADRAPPER keeps getting better and we can’t wait to see what musical goodies he has planned for in 2018.

If you’ve got a craving for ambient synths and lush vocals, Mickey Kojak is the guy you’ve been looking for. His electro-pop style fuses live instrumentation, smooth vocals and electronic elements together to create a fresh soundscape. His Surrender EP was an impressive way to finish 2017 and we’re excited to what he has planned for 2018.

TWERL had a fantastic 2017 thanks in part to Alison Wonderland dropping his fire hot flip of RL Grime’s “Stay For It” with Oriental Cravings during her set at EDC Las Vegas. That flip was so hot that even RL Grime took notice and included it in his highly anticipated Halloween VI mix in back in October. Since then, TWERL has continued to produce hit after hit, teaming up with fellow Aussie BADRAPPER for an outrageous flip of Ekali’s “Babylon” ft. Denzel Curry and delivering an incredibly diverse EP titled Stay. With an amazing 2017 behind him, 2018 could be TWERL’s breakout year.

William. is one of a kind. Taking experimental trap tracks to the next level, William. spent most of 2017 lighting our speakers on fire. Making several appearances on our series The Inbox, William. blew us away with savage originals and mind melting remixes. Offering crisp and otherworldly production skills, William. is definitely not for the faint of heart. As he prepares to make his way to the U.S. for a few shows, 2018 is going to be big for him Enjoy the madness and stream some of our favorites from William. below.

Woosta isn’t afraid to experiment. Diving deep into the dark and edgy world of experimental trap and flirting with the edges of G-Funk, Woosta has an incredible production range. From silky smooth groves to soul stealing trap bangers, Woosta was a surprisingly great find in 2017 who put out over 10 creative tracks that continued to surprise and impress. With an endless amount of potential, it will be interesting to see what Woosta puts out in 2018.

Blanke will break your neck and make you wish you could experience it all over again. His last two remixes of Boys Noize’s “Overthrow” and Virtual Self’s “EON BREAK” left us feigning for his next release and his Curiosity EP defied all expectations and left wondering what he’d put out next. From stunningly creative flips, to highly addictive remixes and gorgeous originals, Blanke continues to hold our attention as he prepares to climb to the top in 2018.

Made By Tsuki may have only put out three tracks in 2017 but each one was noteworthy and a welcome addition to our ever growing playlists. First snagging our attention with an insanely unique edit of Flume’s “Holdin On,” Made by Tsuki continued to make waves that didn’t go unnoticed. From his collaborative flip with Perto to his original with Brandon Jonak, Made By Tsuki gave us a taste of what to expect in 2018 and we’re ready to experience his next release.

ZEKE BEATS will make your body vibrate from all the bass he keeps dropping. Taking us straight into the highest level of lit, ZEKE BEATS spent 2017 making legendary bass tracks that brought us to the darkest edge of bass music before pulling us back to reality and breaking our necks in the process. From his gloriously filthy remix of Foreign Beggars “Toast” to his ridiculously good Dispatch EP, ZEKE BEATS made huge strides in 2017 and will no doubt continue to do so in 2018.

Moss may have only released one track in 2017 but it was so good, we had to include him on our list. Featured in our series The Inbox, Moss’s phenomenal track “Lullabye” ft. Akacia landed on our desk no less than 20 times. Sent over from producers and fellow industry influencers who were completely blown away by the talent and promise that “Akacia” held, we dig some digging and discovered Moss also had an incredible remix of Alison Wonderland’s “U Don’t Know” under his sleeve. Based off of skill in two tracks, we’re more than ready for whatever musical wonders Moss has in store for us in 2018.

WILDLYF’s silky smooth remix of Blackbear’s “Wanderlust” never fails to put me in a good mood. Providing just the right amount of feels and enough heat to work you into a frenzy, WILDLYF has an incredible amount of sizzling originals and edits/remixes for you to vibe out to. Our current favorite being his outrageous edit of Skrillex and Habstrakt’s “Chicken Soup” that we premiered back in September. With an excellent 2017 behind him, we expect for WILDLYE’s steady string of releases to continue into 2018 and beyond.

Son- J is a beast when it comes to making bangers. With releases on rising music labels Sola and Jadu Dala, in addition to appearances on our series The Inbox, Son J consistently delivered banger after banger. With a knack for pushing his sound to the next level, we’re excited to see what happens next with Son-J in 2018.

Yvng Jalapeno had a major 2017. Teaming up with Ian Munro for his Quality Goods Records debut “I Don’t Need You” feat. Cultra, Yvng Jalapeno continued to put out refreshingly creative edits and ended 2017 with a huge remix of UZ’s “Lobby” ft. Quit & Chaz French. With QGRec’s already in his corner, 2018 has the potential to be an even bigger year for Yvng Jalapeno as his fan base continues to grow.

With an ear for picking out talent on the verge of discovery, jack slade is our wild card pick for 2018. Teaming up with Lunchbox for an earth shattering flip of Luude’s “la de da,” Jack Slade continued to pop up on our radar with releases like Candee and Bino feeding our addiction for the bangers he kept putting out. With more music set for release in 2018, we’re excited to watch jack slade continue to stun as he grows and flexes his production chops.
