Spring Awakening 2017 is right around the corner you guys, and I couldn’t be more excited. For the second year in a row the fest will be calling Adams/Medill Park its home and will be packed with talent from Friday to Sunday. There will be two huge main stages along with a a handful of rotating branded stages all weekend. The Bass Kitchen, Trance Arena and Anjunadeep stages will host a flurry of talent by the likes of Snails, Paul Van Dyk and Rufus Du Sol.
Check out the stage preview video below, and then some of our favorite acts from headliner to locals at the fest! Hope to see some of you there.

Spring Awakening
Hi Five b2b Who Cares
This pair of Chicago brothers have been killing it in their city as of late. I’ve seen them play killer opening performances for artists like Crankdat, Joyryde and Flux Pavillion with each set being different than the last. They’ll play bass house, dubstep, and everything in between. If you want a fun way to kickstart your saturday then don’t miss this one.
Lane 8
I fell in love with Lane 8 in the last six months or so. His series of seasonal mixtape series brings a different emotion to the table every time. His Summer 2017 one is a two part series and listening to part one while doing my morning routine made my day significantly better. Let’s see what he brings to a live performance.
Corona Electric Beach Oasis
The Corona Electric Beach will be making its SAMF debut this weekend. It advertises itself as a place where “beats meet the beach.” The Corona filled dome will feature intimate performances from SAMF performers like Vanic, TJR and Paul Oakenfold. Muzzy Bear will even be playin before he takes the stage with GRiZ!
One of my favorite parts of seeing Mija on a lineup is trying to think of what kind of set she will play for the festival. I’ve seen her play everything from techno and deep house to throttling dubstep. Will she stick to her future bass side or just play a bunch of juke and bounce tunes? Only one way to find out!
The mysterious Malaa has been making waves since being thrust into the spotlight with his wonderful remix of Major Lazer’s ‘Lean On’ along with the support of fellow Pardon My French brothers DJ Snake and Tchami. Couple that with the highly energetic performance and you’ve got a show you can’t miss.
Back again this year after giving one hell of a performance last year at the fest, Ghastly is making his triumphant return to SAMFwith a plethora of new music he’s dropped over the last year, this show is going to be a must watch!
This one’s for all the Porter Robinson fans out there, Chicago/Iowa native Mielo is bringing his synth inspired melodic sound to the festival once again this year. Having shared the stage with Porter himself late last year, we can all expect a show that’s going to give the crowd a reason to remember the name, “Mielo.”
The Mad Decent godfather, and tastemaker himself will be handling headlining duties on Saturday night. He has a knack for holding on to unreleased tunes, and this could be a fun place to sample some new tunes. Let’s see what Diplo has in store for Spring Awakening this year.
If you are from Chicago, I hope you have been to a Porn and Chicken party. Their weekly parties have been boasted as one of the wildest in the city, if not the wildest one. They recently made a move to The MID and show no signs of slowing down. These SAMF veterans will play a set with just about every genre possible to get the crowd in the perfect mood to get rowdy.
