Oliver Heldens has been on one recently. Less than a week after calling out Major Lazer and getting in a little Twitter feud with Diplo, the Dutch DJ is back at it. This time his target is The Chainsmokers and their new single with Coldplay. The Chainsmokers are already one of the most polarizing figures in the EDM world and their latest single hasn’t done anything to rest this issue. Many people have pointed out how similar the song is to the group’s hit ‘Roses’ and how it caters to the mainstream and doesn’t offer anything innovative or new. Well Oliver Heldens decided to put his own two cents into the conversation in a series of now deleted tweets.
Maybe I have to listen a couple more times, but imo I’ve heard waaay better stuff by either @coldplay or @TheChainsmokers #HypeHype

think I finally understand the hype around @marshmellomusic though. It’s very different, blending the @flumemusic cool wave w happy ‘EDM’

Thing is I hate top melodies which don’t say anything. When 1 easy melody brings different/controversy emotions, that’s the best imo.
