Coachella has just revealed that Lady Gaga will headline both weekends of Coachella. Confirmed via Billboard, that she will be replacing Beyoncé, who canceled her performance after announcing she was pregnant with twins. Gaga will fill in for Beyoncé on both Saturday nights (April 15 and 22) at Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, Calif. Festival organizers Goldenvoice and AEG Live are finalizing plans to bring Gaga’s massive stage production to Coachella and will make the announcement within the next few days.
This move comes off of Gaga’s widely watched performance at the Super Bowl, and goes in between dates of her summer tour.
According to sources, “It was important to Coachella organizers that a female performer replace Beyoncé”. Making Gaga the first woman to headline Coachella since Björk in 2007.
I personally would’ve rather had Rihanna and Chance the Rapper fill the void of Beyonce’s departure, but I guess we can’t always get what we want in life. Gaga was great in American Horror Story though, no doubt about that.
–Adam Hirsch is still dreaming about Daft Punk on the empire polo grounds..
