Major Lazer Releases A New Version Of ‘Cold Water’ For Diwali And Announces New Music

I’m not going to lie, when ‘Cold Water’ first came out I wasn’t the biggest fan of the song. I thought it sounded very commercial and wasn’t that inspiring. Well, Major Lazer has changed that in the remake of the song with Indian based producer Anirudh for Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. In this remix, Anirudh truly gives the song a touch of India, utilizing instruments like the tabala, violin, and flute to give it a beautiful melody that grabs at the heart strings. It is refreshing that for once when a song is claimed to have Indian influences (see Lean On) it actually does. Hats off to Anirudh and I’m excited to hear what is next from this rising Indian producer.
