Rumors have been swirling over the last few months about Donald Glover possibly playing a role in the new Star Wars Han Solo film, and today those rumors have been confirmed.
In an official press release from Lucas Films reveals: “Glover will join Alden Ehrenreich—previously cast as Han Solo—in bringing two iconic Star Wars characters back to the big screen, but at a time in their lives previously unexplored. This new film depicts Lando in his formative years as a scoundrel on the rise in the galaxy’s underworld—years before the events involving Han, Leia, and Darth Vader in The Empire Strikes Back and his rise to Rebel hero in Return of the Jedi.”
Donald Glover has showcased his multi faceted acting and directing skills in his new series on FX Atlanta, and his rap prowess from his hip hop project Childish Gambino; so needless to say we’re more than excited to see him featured in this new star wars film as Lando Calrissian
