SoundCloud, no matter the frustration frequently voiced by users and creators alike, continues trying new things to keep its collective head above water, and the latest changes they’ve implemented are actually (somewhat) a step in a positive direction. Instead of seemingly random “Related Tracks” that auto-play after listening to a song, the site has designated a brand new Discover tab on the main feed, as seen below:
Even with all of the jokes and slightly annoying hiccups SoundCloud frequently deals with, it’s encouraging to see steps like this taken to attempt to make up for lost ground. With that being said, there’s a little (somewhat) bad news to go along with this (somewhat) good news. Confusion has mounted as to what artwork is being removed from SoundCloud lately, but fret not, they aren’t entirely removing art from the site all together. Tracks with art behind the waveform will simply no longer have that appearance anymore. Devasting, huh?
All in all, not much is different. Maybe the recent investment from Twitter could (somewhat) help to shape things up. We’ll just need to wait and see.
