Last Friday, Burning Man announced their purchase of Fly Ranch, a 3800-acre piece of land 21 miles north of Gerlach, Nevada. The land includes a lot of cool geographical features such as a geothermal geyser called the “Fly Geyser” which launches water five feet into the air, along with 640 acres of hot and cold natural pools and grasslands. The purchase in total was $6.5 million and according to the Burning Man organization, the goal of this purchase is to “amplify and extend the culture born from the Burning Man event into the larger world” by facilitating a year-round community and activities.”
No doubt this marks a new chapter for Burning Man and makes the organization’s events significantly more accessible to people interested. Check out this serene video they posted online showing the new property below!
