George Maple is back and taking us to the strip club with her new video for ‘Sticks and Horses.’ Produced by George Maple, What So Not, Noah Breakfast and WILLS, “Sticks and Horses’ is a bold statement that features a seductive baseline, deep drums and a fire verse from DC rapper GoldLink. Watch the video and peep what George Maple has to say about the track below.
‘Sticks and Horses’ is a tale of revenge, sex, money, power and greed. It is a theatrical play on my own experiences. I wanted to be loud and fun with the presentation of the song. I spent a lot of time in the USA and was exposed to a completely new world of rap and strip clubs. I find it intriguing and seductive. I was inspired by the raw and confronting nature of the experience. It is a space which is very foreign to a girl like me, who grew up in a small beach town in Australia. It’s the perfect setting to tell the story. It was very liberating to express myself in this new medium. I’m really happy to be releasing it into the world. Thank you to Goldlink for your poetic wizardry. Thank you to my crew, Noah Breakfast, What So Not and WILLS, the original MBV’s who sat through the hours of tedious edits and changes. Thank you Tyler for your epic mixing and thank you to the George Maple team for supporting me always.
I hope you feel sexy and express yourself to this track,
Love George
