OWSLA label head Skrillex previewed his new Valentino Khan collab “Slam Dunk” on his new OWSLA Radio show on Beats 1. Touted by Kahn to be “the ‘Jumpman’ of the summer”, he set the bar pretty high for the forth-coming track… and it fell quite far below it.
When I try to think of things this song did… um… it introduced rapper Kstylis… it undoubtedly did that… it is the 356,740,764,000th “big room banger” to ever be “a total slam dunk, bro”… it has pretty shoddy voice-overs that don’t make a lot of sense and cheapen the track further… I dunno–I don’t wanna crap on Skrillex and Valentino Khan too much because they’re both capable of making good music, they just didn’t this time.
