What artist would you expect to release a single on Easter Sunday? Kanye West, of course. It’s only appropriate that he graces us with yet another update of his much-discussed, The Life of Pablo. The track “Ultralight Prayer” is an alternate version of the album’s original opener “Ultralight Beam,” carried by the vocals of Kirk Franklin, Kelly Price and a gospel choir. Devoid of any instrumental, “Ultralight Prayer” is nothing short of powerful, spiritual and moving.

Happy Easter!— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) March 27, 2016
Announced earlier today in a Tweet, we can see this isn’t the first time this year Kanye dropped a track via SoundCloud. Everyone who paid $20 to download the album on TIDAL must be especially happy today. The instrumental is a sermon by Kirk Franklin, with background support from the choir that originally appeared on TLOP. We’re not sure yet if “Ultralight Prayer” is going to be a replacement for “Ultralight Beam” on the actual album, but we do know that this is one of many promised updates to an unfinished album.
Listen to “Ultralight Prayer” now.
