Spring Awakening Music Festival is all set to celebrate its fifth year. The young electronic music festival which has called Soldier Field its home for the last 4 years is in for a migration.
Spring Awakening 2016 will call Jackson Park, site of the historic World’s Fair’ its home for the year.
“Over the past year we’ve explored potential venues that have bigger footprints, and with 500+ acres of lakefront greenery, Jackson Park turned out to be a prime location. Jackson Park allows SAMF to continue to grow as the largest dance music festival in the Midwest, with enough space to accommodate our growing number of fans, and will also allow for more stages and bigger production than ever before.” – Jeff Callahan, SAMF Founder
The new venue will give SAMF a bit more room to work with and attendees will be able to enjoy SIX stages (5 in 2015), fireworks displays, interactive art installations and carnival rides including a ferris wheel in honor of the first ever ferris wheel that was debuted on the same very grounds. Jackson Park is just steps away from the Museum of Science and Industry and The University of Chicago. Public transportation users will be able to hop on a 15 minute train ride from Millenium Station in Downtown Chicago.
In it’s short time being around, SAMF has never failed to provide a fantastic time, and has featured performers such as Jack U, Flosstradamus, Eric Prydz, Zeds Dead and many more. If you want to ensure you are a part of the festivities, head on over to the Spring Awakening Website and grab a presale ticket. But make sure to hurry because they are only in limited quantities!
