Cofresi puts his crossover live percussion talent and expressionistic future beat production chops on view again, this time with his remix of Zhu, Skrillex, and THY’s high-profile collab track “Working For It,” available for download here today.
Adeptly navigating the intro with a sweeping lull counted with modulated percussive claps, he lends the remix a live element before cascading into the raucous refrain, which, from there, drips with manic future vibes that undulate between Cofresi’s added layer of melodic fog and the original track’s saw-toothed synths.
Check out the jump-cut heavy video with visual synapses paralleling the sound range Cofresi traverses with this remix. With its POV camera angles, the video underscores Cofresi’s live percussion antic, themselves replete with drumstick twirls prefacing the drops. Although it technically familiarizes viewers with his live sets, until you’re seeing him bash those poor splash cymbals in-person, a more proper introduction to his triumphant high-energy performances remains elusive.
