Amid the constant streaming battle, Spotify is unleashing a brand new feature — “Spotify Party.” The newly launched feature aims to take advantage of the ever-present party playlist and college market, as it allows users to listen to curated playlists that are hand-picked by professionals in the industry. Clearly, this feature is intended to go head-to-head with Apple Music’s strong curation from some of the top tastemakers in the industry.
Along with the launch of the new feature is the features’s very first playlist, curated by none other than Diplo. The gargantuous 120-track playlist features various moods and genres, and will allow you to keep the party poppin’ until the wee hours of the morning.
If you’re not a Diplo fan, have no fear — Spotify plans to add countless more tastemakers to their armory. In addition to having the ability to pick a playlist that will perfectly match your party, “Spotify Party” also allows users to adjust the vibe of the music selected in the playlist as your night goes on. Whether the night is winding down or just getting started, it simply takes the turn of a dial to adjust the energy level of the music selected.
Peep what Diplo had to say about the new feature:
“When it comes to throwing parties you simply have to have the right playlists – or everyone will leave, and while researching and picking out music is fun, it also takes a lot of time and effort. With Spotify Party, you’re served with loads of beat-matched music that transitions perfectly, which you can easily adapt to whatever your current vibe is. Best of all, you don’t have to do any of the legwork.”
Spotify Party is available starting today to Android and iOS users. Expect the service to slowly be rolled out to all subscribers.
