Forbes just released their list of the 12 highest paid DJ’s of 2015. The total income for one calendar year was calculated after adding everything from live shows, merchandise sales, endorsements, recorded music sales and various other external business adventures.
It seems that the amount that DJs are making is finally starting to plateau after more than doubling from 2012 – 2014.
That total has soared in recent years. Over the past 12 months, the top ten DJs took in $274 million, more than double the $116 million total for the top ten in 2012. But the pace is slowing. After a 108% increase from 2012 to 2013, the number grew 11% from 2013 to 2014, and only 2.5% from 2014 to 2015. – Forbes
For the third year in a row, Calvin Harris comes roaring into first place, pocketing about $66 million. David Guetta is in second place for the second year in a row with $37 million. Something tells me he doesn’t mind that second place trophy.
Newcomer Martin Garrix
was able to sneak onto the list for the first time in his short career. $17 million before being able to legally drink in America isn’t horrible, right?
