Drake has kept quiet on social media during the Meek Mill accusations that he “doesn’t write his own raps”, which was shot down but the suggested ghostwriter Quentin Miller; but leave it to Drizzy to drop a bomb on the OVO beats 1 radio show today in the form of a new track titled “Charged Up“.
Drake starts off rapping, “I’m honored that you think this is staged, I’m flattered, man / In fact, I’m amazed … You boys are getting into your feelings on me / You should embrace it, this could be one of our realest moments.”
He swears off doing features, “Done doing favors for people / ‘Cause it ain’t like I need the money I make off a feature”) and takes shots at Meek’s sales (“I see you ni**as having trouble going gold / Turning into some so-and-sos that no one knows”. This is likely referring to Drake’s verse on Meek’s album for R.I.C.O., not to mention you can see him pictured above repping a Free Meek Mill shirt on tour when Meek was locked up.
He even brings Meek’s girl Nicki Minaj into the track, “No woman ever had me starstruck or was able to tell me to get my bars up” and chides Meek for his pettiness “Cops are killin’ people with their arms up / And your main focus is tryna harm us”.
UPDATE: Meek has responded to the diss track via a few brief tweets.
