Galantis - Peanut Butter Jelly (GTA Remix)

GTA is well known for running the trap. The ran that shit so hard, so well, so Hardwell, that they (see what I did there?) ran themselves above and beyond (and again) the traditional sense of the trap. Quite like we have done with words here at RTT, GTA redefines running the trap by defying genre in the most extreme fashion. In other words, calling for the death of all that is genre.

‘Death To Genres’ is the mantra they are running with, and likewise their trap is looking quite different, these days. It is an evolution well overdue in the eyes of many artists, who choose not to be limited by the restraints of industry standards, and what it means to fit into the constrictions of a concept like genre. For GTA, it probably means stepping outside their comfort zone, but also evolving as individuals to achieve a deeper level of connectivity with their audience. If that is the case, it shows in the music they have been putting out. This duo has always been on the top of my list of bests, but they have further proven themselves to be just that with this recent genre killing campaign.

The proof is in the music, as they say. Music is after all, as delicious as pudding. Especially this remix of Galantis‘s ‘Peanut Butter Jelly,’ from GTA, that has me wondering strawberry or grape. Aside from making you hungry for lunch, what I have just said is of absolute truth. GTA took this already uplifting track, and intensified its feels, giving the message a swift kick to the feels. The message, the drums, and the vocals. Everything got turnt up a notch, or ten. The drums pound in from the intro with a heavy kick, and the vocal distortion gets kicked so hard that you can feel the words inside your chest as you listen. One of the best parts about this remix is how it stays true to the original, accentuating all that is good about it.

The ‘Peanut Butter Jelly’ remix package is set for a 6/29 release from Big Beat Records. If the rest are anything like this, they should be cut into triangles and served on a silver platter. With strawberry jelly of course.
