The Weeknd – The Hills (SKULS RIP)

IDK about you, but The Weeknd remixes are almost always a win with me. His sultry sound translates well to any pitch, any tempo, any time signature. I’ll bump The Weeknd any day, any way, anywhere, anyhow. Anyway, there has been a recent flux of super dope remixes of the popular The Weeknd track, “The Hills.” HXV slow it down in their blurred remix, giving the bass and vocals just what they need to make you love this song even more than you already do. As if that was possible, right? Well, Stooki Sound’s remix goes in the opposite direction. It can get confusing when listening to all of these remixes in a row. You might not know whether it is time for dance, romance, sleep, cry, or something else entirely. Mostly, The Weekend remixed makes you want to do things even more unspeakable than suggested in his originals.

Maybe that is just me.

Judging by The Weeknd’s virally growing popularity, we all have some sort of similar reaction to these nasty lyrics, that are so easily and ease is not to say that remixing The Weekend well is an easy task. We would probably just prefer the originals if that was the case. No, remixing an impeccable artist like The Weeknd takes an unparalleled, unique skill set. Which is why we bring you this quality RIP of his track The Hills, by the homies that make up the dynamic duo known as SKULS. Rebranding is sometimes the move, and this new monicker comes with a new set of stellar production cred. Out with the old, and coming in hot with all this nu nu fire that may still be their untapped talent. These west coast natives know all about bringing the chill factor to an already chill sound. Defying logic and sense, optimum chill is achieved using the aforementioned nu nu fire. What’s chiller than chill? Ice cold or flaming hot, they are the same damn thing when it comes to this The Weeknd remix. RIP is right cause these boys straight killed this remix.
